Easter Weekend

We had a GREAT Easter weekend...all the kids traveled like rock stars, Leighton got to do 3! Easter egg hunts, the boys were spoiled with lots of attention, we now know the effect of Leighton eating nothing but sugar for a day (good thing we will only allow that to happen once a year), Grandpa Bob had a successful surgery, Mommy got a couple naps and a morning off (thank Grandma and Grandpa Stanford!)...it made it hard to return back to Des Moines and get back into our little groove.

No pictures of the big EB (Easter Bunny) this year :-( Leighton wouldn't get within 5 feet of him...even with Mommy holding her...don't really blame her, he is somewhat scary looking!

Mommy has also realized she needs to do a better job of taking pictures of the boys as more pictures of them are needed in our blog!!

Decorating cookies...LOVE sprinkles!!
I sure do like frosting
EASTER EGGS!!
Leighton quickly collected her loot

Chicken or Eggs??

EGGS of course....then...

Even though I got a sucker, I am still not going to cooperate

Next stop Hollywood...

Today is Leighton's Mee-Maw's (we are still trying to figure out who taught her to call her that), my Grandma Shirley's, 75th Birthday!!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

My sister, Jean, came up with the idea to have all the grandkids send Grandma a birthday video message.

Just a little back story...Leighton LOVES singing Happy Birthday, we sing it to her/about her...so I figured our video would go off without a hitch...I shortly found out that little Miss Attitude doesn't like to sing about anyone else other than herself.

Ours is too funny not to share with y'all...so without further ado...here is the Stanford first movie debut!!

We are 1 MONTH OLD!!

The boys turned 1 month old on Friday!!  Boy does the time fly!!  They aren't the "baby babies" we brought home from the hospital anymore : (  Their personalities are shining thru more and more each day and they are growing like weeds!

Ryan -- he's takes after his mommy in personality...pretty laid back, waits his turns, likes to talk (he is doing it constantly, especially in his sleep!)

Grant -- more of his father's son...impatient and needs what he wants now! somewhat quiet, but when he has something to say you know it.

Both boys are good sleepers (thankfully they got that trait from mom!) We are sleeping good 4 hour stretches...which is nice...however my system hasn't fully adjusted yet to the new found hours of sleep yet!  The boys have one more week, I think, in Mommy's room, and then it will be off to their own room and cribs!

Hmm...I wonder what his problem is?!?!

Yep...this twin shot isn't happening today
Here are some photos of the past week!

Where's the baby?

High Five!

Never a Dull Moment for Daddy... (revised on 4/9)

Good article about Randy's guys over in Afganistan...kind of scary to know he is that close to the "action", but as we all know he'd wouldn't have it any other way.

After talking to Randy he is the one on the right in the video at the end of this story.

Here are some pictures as well to go with the story...Randy is in a couple of them

3 weeks down...and a very long post!!

The boys' 3rd week of life was busy one...Aunt Jean again "vacationed" at our house for the week, all 3 kiddos had well check appointments, boys' went shopping for the first time, and we took our first roadtrip outside of the Des Moines area.  The boys liked having Aunt Jean here to spoil them and Mommy actually got some things off her "to do" list done during the week...most importantly...starting the interview process for a summer sitter for the boys!  (As Momma is itching to get back to work)

The boys were angels at their dr appt and the dr is very happy with the growth they are showing!  (Momma is doing a good job of keeping their tummies full!)  Each gained over a pound and grew over an inch since their first well check at 1 week old.

Ryan --  7lbs 10oz; 20.3" -- birth 6lbs 8oz; 19 1/4"
Grant --  7lbs 3oz;  19.8"-- birth 6lbs 7oz; 18" (Grant got down to 6lbs at our first dr appt)

Leighton...on the other hand...was not an angel at the dr office.  I have never been in and out so fast in my life of any dr office!!  20mins!!  She screamed from the second we got there till the second they gave her cookies on our way out the door.  Don't blame her that much, everytime we have gone there, she has gotten shots and poked for one thing or another!

Leighton was -- 23lbs and 33"...she's tall for her age in the 80th percentile, she didn't gain any weight since her 15month appt, so we are back in 3 month for a weight check.

The boys did very well on their first road trip! We headed back to Winthrop to reunite Aunt Jean with her boys.  It was a short trip for us, but we were able to get a visit to Great Grandma and Grandpa Tekippe's house.

Lastly, since the weather was sooooo awesome today (got to 87!), I decided to take on the task of going to the park with all the kids.  We packed up our "neighborhood" stoller aka the bus that Aunt Jean found for us and headed to the park. Leighton LOVES the stroller...probably because she is soooo far away from mommy!! She likes to look back and say "see you" or "hi momma".  The boys enjoyed the ride as well!  Me on the other hand...I am going to have to start working out just so I am able to push this thing around!!
Don't worry...no babies were hurt in this picture

Ready for our first road trip
