Challenging Times

Finding a free moment these days to update our blog has been a challenge to say the least!  The kiddos seem to be pulling me in 3 separate directions all at the same time.  I will say, I believe, I have been very fortunate that I haven't really felt the "stress" of being a "single-mom" until these last few weeks, and at moments I thought the parenting of 3 under 2 was going quite easy and I was super mom...those days seem to now be a VERY distant memory!!

Leighton is really finding her own voice these days, she as an opinion and isn't afraid to state it -- wonder were she gets that from? It makes "reasoning" with her very challenging at times.  She has decided that her crib/toddler bed and sleeping in her room are beneath her, she'd rather sleep with Mommy in her nice big bed.  In which she somehow takes up the whole thing.  Her new bedtime is 10pm, not 8pm, like it was 3 weeks ago...nap no nap...doesn't matter 10pm.  I guess it is summer right?!?!

She is showing all signs that she is ready to be potty trained.  We have had "accidents" around the house in which the diaper has mysterously been taken off and a puddle is left behind.  She hasn't quite figured out that we need to get to the potty before hand yet and I will be honest I am not ready to potty train her yet as I can't give it 100% with everything else going on.

On the flipside...she is TOTALLY in LOVE with Cinderella...we watch the movie at least 4 times a day. It is pretty cute as she tries to sing along and she dances with the music...here we come princess phase!!

The boys are now mobile, well, kind of, they are rolling all over the place.  Each day the roll around faster than the day before. Grant is actually trying to prop up on all fours, call me a bad parent, but I am politely discouraging him from that...thats all I need is one actually crawling around earlier than expected!

Our challenging times here at the house are providing Daddy and his guys in Afganistan with some good laughs.  Daddy already believes he has the power to undo the "madness" here at the Stanford household...to which I just say HA!  We are expecting him home sometime at the end of July which can't come soon enough for all of us!

Boys...Boys...Boys

This blog is fully dedicated to my 3 MONTH OLD BABY BOYS!! (with a brief cameo from their sister)

3 months...WOW...you kind of forget how fast time goes by and far we have come.  Both boys are rolling over and love tummy time and have very strong necks.  They are both TOTALLY IN AWE of their older sister and seem to be so interested in everything she does!  We have bumped up to eating 6oz bottles and go about 3-3 1/2 hours between feedings.  I would say we get one good nap out of each of them during the course of the day...and many cap naps.  Grant is past his spit up stage...or let's say projectile spit up...which is nice to be able to wear the same outfit all day! Neither are a fan of the outdoors yet but in their defense it has either been very hot, too bright or windy when we have been out.  Both boys are still sleeping solid thru the time and bed time is a breeze...well Grant at time fights it...but Mommy knows best!  They are Mommy's boys and love their snuggle time with Mommy!  I can really get them smiling and laughing (except when there is a camcorder or camera in front of them of course).

Of Course we can't smile at the same time!

We love our sister....she likes to "feed" us

We have we been...

You may have wondering what this Stanford clan has been up to for the past few weeks as I haven't done an official post.  Boy, have we've been busy or so it seems we have been!!

Mommy treated Leighton to a "Mommy and Me" afternoon and saw her friends from Sesame Street.  We had a good time, got to meet Burt and Ernie, share pizza, drink pop, front row seat and sing/dance.
A perfect way to spend the day with little Miss L.

I soooo cool

Burt and Ernie

Oooohhh Elmo!
The boys are busy. Both boys are now rolling from tummy to back.  Grant is officially bigger than his older brother while we haven't been on the scales (as Mommy is scared to get on it with them for it to be official official) a side by side comparison is enough to show who is bigger right now. We are seeing A LOT of smiles from the both of them and they are both "talking"!!
The boys have also upped their bedtime to around 8:30, I can't explain how this happened as I didn't force it but it sure is nice. All three little ones asleep by 9!!

Last Saturday we had a HUGE play date at our house. Cousins Jack, James and Bronson came to run around for a few hours unfortunately the crew was contained inside due to rain, but everyone got along, no one got hurt and we even got everyone (6 kids under 5) to sit for a picture or two. IT SURE WAS A FUN TIME!!

I got a glimpse into how our weekends might be playing out this summer...let me introduce Leighton "fish" Stanford! She LOVES swimming, being in her suit and just being outside. She spent all day Sunday in her swim suit, wouldn't let me take if off once it was on.
You said get your suit on...why can't I get in now??
