Lately...

To say we've been pretty busy lately is probably an accurate statement! With each passing day, it seems as though the kids get busier and busier and time just continues to fly by faster and faster!

Our Saturdays, for the past 5 weeks and next 3 has been consumed with soccer league. Yep, they start them young down here, 2.5 year old soccer league. I will admit, it is painful hour and our "little soccer star" for the most part has little interest in the whole thing, but I suppose it is good for her to be involved, right?!?! Leighton spends most her time chasing boys (great for us right?) or laying on the field...she does have brief moments of "greatness" and will kick the ball.

Last weekend, we had our first garage sale. It was a lot of work, but a good success! We are rid of all our baby stuff...it is amazing how fast things go down here. Within the first 30 minutes of being open, we had already made a few hundred dollars off our baby gear! Don't know if we will have another, but it was fun to talk with all the expectant mothers who came thru our garage.

For Mother's Day, my only request was to sleep in. As most of us new mother's know, "sleep-in" has a different meaning to us now than it did before kids. Randy honored my request (of course) and I was able to catch the zzz's till 6:50am...crazy I know!! He also step it up and took the kids out for breakfast all by himself, huge thing for him to take on! It was wonderful for a little over an hour, I was able to shower with no interruptions, read the paper, pick up and just enjoy the quiet...it the little things right?!?! To top the morning off, Randy even brought me home a nice coffee drink! And yes, to his surprise, he handled all the kids! Honestly, when we get in public they are generally angels...figures!

Leighton did have one request for Mother's Day and that was to go to the zoo, so we went, along with what seemed as the rest of Des Moines. The kids LOVED it! Leighton was herself an animal, she was all over the place and wanted to see and do everything! The boys took it all in from their wagon and rode the entire 2 hours in it without even one fuss! It was a great outing for us and everyone took awesome naps when we got home!

BIG NEWS FOR THE STANFORD'S...LEIGTHON IS NOW IN PANTIES!!!! For about the past month, she has been "practicing" this going potty in the big potty thing. We have had much success with her peeing on it with few accidents...poo poo has been a totally different issue. Then Wednesday of this week, something went off in her little head and was very insistent on wearing panties and we've had no accidents since (number 1 or number 2)...well we had 1 but Mommy takes the blame for that accident. Is it possible on less kid to buy diapers/pull up for??
